FESTIVAL OF PRAISE CONCERT

On Sunday November 7 at 7:00 p.m., Arts in the Cathedral of Church of =
the Saviour in Cleveland Heights presents A Festival of Praise, a =
concert of music for choir, bells, brass, organ & percussion. The =
highlighted work on the program is the stunning Gloria for 8-piece brass =
ensemble, percussion, organ and choir by well-known English composer =
John Rutter. Also featured is the Cleveland Premiere of Alan Higbee's My =
Song Will Speak, which won the Long Island Arts Council's 30th =
Anniversary Composition Competition in 2004. The text for this piece is =
from a set of poems called the Crescent Moon by Rabindranath Tagore.


The concert includes  Richard Strauss' Processional Entry for brass and =
organ, as well as Lee Dengler's stirring Saints of God for choir, organ, =
brass and congregation. Other ensembles performing on the program are =
the Bells of the Saviour, the Agape and King David Choirs and the Wesley =
Bells.


The concert will be held in the sanctuary of Church of the Saviour in =
Cleveland Heights. The program is free and open to the public. A =
free-will offering will be accepted.

SILK PAINTING EXHIBIT November 7-14

In conjuction with the Festival of Praise concert, the Visual Arts Guild =
of Arts in the Cathedral is mounting an Exhibit of Silk Painting by =
noted local artist Susan Skove. These colorful designs on precious silk =
will be displayed in the parlor of Church of the Saviour before and =
after the concert as well as on Sunday mornings and also by appointment. =
The Silk Painting display runs from Nov 7-14.

Church of the Saviour is located at 2537 Lee Road, Cleveland Heights, =
Ohio (1 block North of Fairmount Blvd.) The church has plenty of free, =
lighted parking and is handicapped-accessible.
