WEATHERVANE PLAYHOUSE=20
Sundays at Seven: Salon Reading Series
An Unexpected Visitor Comes to Weathervane
(November 5, 2004, Akron, Ohio.For Immediate Release) There's a mystery =
afoot that only a Sherlock Holmes can solve. But, as everyone knows, =
Sherlock only exists in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's imagination. A renowned =
spiritualist, Doyle is nothing like Sherlock. When Doyle accepts the =
challenge of solving the riddle of a mysterious ghost haunting an =
English home, he seeks to meet the ghost as proof of an afterlife. His =
vivid imagination, however, brings Sherlock Holmes to "life" who =
unravels the ghostly mystery. Secrets of passion, betrayal and murder =
are all revealed to the keen, deductive eye of Sherlock Holmes and the =
man who created him.

This is the unique premise of The Unexpected Return of Sherlock Holmes =
by area playwright Jack Herman. Weathervane Playhouse will present a =
reading of the work Sunday, November 21st in its Salon Reading series. =
Alan Scott Ferrall, Weathervane's Scenic Designer/Technical Director, is =
directing the reading. The cast will include Jerry Dorton, Warren =
Levene, Tom Marshall, Leanne Stofsick, Jon Valentine and Aaron Veal.

Herman has more than twenty years of theatrical experience including =
extensive training behind-the-scenes as producer, director and technical =
advisor for area professional and community theaters. He is also founder =
of Tree City Players in Kent.

The reading takes place in Weathervane's new John L. Deitz Classroom =
Theater-an intimate "black box" performance space which complements the =
theater's main stage.

Weathervane's Sundays at Seven: Salon Reading Series provides exposure =
to new plays and playwrights. Audience members have the opportunity to =
provide feedback in discussions following the reading. Light =
refreshments are also served.

The free evening reading of The Unexpected Return of Sherlock Holmes =
takes place at 7 p.m. November 21. Weathervane Community Playhouse is =
located at 1301 Weathervane Lane in Akron's Merriman Valley.
