Roles are available for 3 men and 2 Women. Age range is
approximately 20 to 50.

Director Jerrold Scott (CWRU Professor of Theatre) seeks
a versatile cast of wildly inventive comic actors! 4 of the 5
roles double....no triple....no....quadruple.... Well, you get the idea.

"Polish Joke" performs in Beck's intimate Studio Theatre
beginning April 8th and plays through May 1st. Rehearsals
will begin in late February. Both AEA and non-AEA actors are sought!!! No=20
appointments necessary. Auditions will consist of reading from the script. C=
omic=20
monologues, however, will be welcome by the director.

All performers, 18 years of age and older, are compensated for their=20
participation.

About The Play:=A0 "Polish Joke is a comedy about ethnic identity and the=20
eternal American search for "roots". Jasiu
is a Polish-American who has been taught not to value his own roots, so he=20
decides to make his own roots, reinventing
himself first as a sort of non-ethnic Everyman, then as an "Irishman". His=20
adventures---alternately zany and heart- breaking---take him on a semi-surre=
al=20
journey, and=A0in the=A0attempt to break from his natural heritage, he finds=
 out=20
who he is and what it means to be "Polish."
