Lakewood, Ohio - The Beck Center for the Arts is proud to offer Life
Drawing classes throughout this fall with Cleveland Institute of Art
instructor Marilyn Szalay.  Ms. Szalay has spent nearly 25 years
teaching, most recently at the CIA and Cuyahoga Community College, and
exhibiting public and private collections throughout Ohio. An
accomplished artist in several media including photography, painting,
drawing and computer graphics, Ms. Szalay published the book "American
Artist" - Realism Today in November, 2000.

The fundamental skill of life drawing allows students to explore the
human form with respect to such basic artistic concepts as line,
composition, shape, light and content. Artists will improve their skill
and technique through individual instruction and critique from 13-year
CIA faculty member Marilyn Szalay.

Beginning October 5th and running ten weeks, the Tuesday evening classes
will be held from 7:00-9:00 PM in the Beck Center's Studio E. Cost of
attendance is $12 per session. Students are encouraged, but not required
to attend all 10 sessions.
