Singing Angels Growing: Several Opportunities for Auditions 

CLEVELAND - Cleveland's own Singing AngelsR are growing and are seeking
dozens of young people from across the region to join this world-renowned
troupe of touring singers and dancers.

Regular auditions will be held Jan. 8, 2005, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and are
open to girls ages 8 to 14 and boys ages 8 to 16. Auditions take place at
the Masonic Auditorium building, 3615 Euclid Ave, Cleveland, Ohio, 44115.

In addition, this year the group is taking part in an innovative
collaboration with HealthSpace Cleveland for a special end-of-the-year
concert on Thursday, December 30th, that will also include an informative
Q&A session and an open audition for promising future "Angels."  The event
will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 8911 Euclid Avenue.

Admission to the Singing Angels performance is included with regular
admission. Special Group packages and discounts are available for the event.

HealthSpace Cleveland, formerly the Health Museum of Cleveland, opened
November 8, 2003. HealthSpace is at East 89th Street and Euclid Avenue in
the University Circle area, with convenient on-site parking for $4 as well
as easy access from the Regional Transit System (RTA). Members of
HealthSpace Cleveland are admitted to the exhibits floor and the traveling
exhibit area for free. Membership information is available online or by
calling 216-231-6815.

To audition for The Singing Angels, young people should come prepared to
sing a song of their choosing without accompaniment. Because The Singing
Angels is devoted to teaching, auditioners do not need to be accomplished
singers already; the group takes those who can sing in tune with a pleasant
sound, and a smile and a positive attitude are a big plus. No appointment is
necessary. 

In the group, young people from across Greater Cleveland become true
stars-representing their region to the world as youth ambassadors while
taking part in a truly professional musical production that brings together
youth from across the region. The experience lasts a lifetime: In its 40
years, the group has been to 29 countries on three continents, performed
twice for the Pope and four times for the White House, and featured in
dozens of TV appearances. Twice each year, the group performs on stage at
the Allen Theatre in Playhouse Square and in nearly 100 performances each
year.

This is an exciting time for the group, with an international trip to
Vancouver planned for 2005, and all young people with an interest in the
performing arts are encouraged to audition.

The Singing AngelsR was founded in 1964 and is a registered 501(c)(3)
non-profit corporation. Membership is open to children ages 8 to 18, without
