JOB DESCRIPTION

Program One
WHO: Perkins Middle School students grades 6-8th. =20
WHEN: The program will run from late-January 2005 thru May =
2005 (approx. 12 weeks). Program meets on Saturdays from 11:00 - 1:00 =
(approx. time)
WHAT: You will conduct a series of mini-workshops with 10-15 =
students on communication skills and positive choice-making. You will =
also assist students in conducting interviews with guest speakers. Some =
of the material collected in the interviews will be compiled into a =
booklet that will be distributed to all students at the completion of =
the program (May 2005).

Program Two
WHO: Safe Landing Youth Shelter, girls age 13 to 18
WHEN: The program will run from late-January 2005 thru March =
2005 (approx. 8-10 weeks). Program meets on Saturday afternoons, exact =
time TBD
WHAT: You will conduct a series of mini-workshops with up to =
10 girls in the shelter on positive choice-making. =20

Requirements & Duties:
a.. A social work background is helpful but not a must=20
b.. A Theater background is helpful, especially in outreach and arts =
education programs=20
c.. Must be available on Saturdays=20
d.. Must have classroom or workshop facilitation experience with =
at-risk girls=20
e.. Must have classroom or workshop facilitation experience AND must =
be comfortable teaching African-American girls from grades 6-8th =
(Perkins)=20
f.. Must be able to develop good rapport with girls and provide =
leadership=20
g.. Must be prompt and well organized=20
h.. Must be able to work effectively with Girl Scout staff and =
Teachers at the school=20
