Karamu Performing Arts Theatre will be holding auditions for the late =
Dennis McIntyre's SPLIT SECOND on Saturday, January 29th and Sunday, =
January 30th from 10AM - 2PM, Tuesday, February 1st, from 5PM-8PM, and =
Saturday, February 5th, from 10am-1PM.=20

SPLIT SECOND opens April 1 and runs thru April 24, 2005 in the intimate =
Arena Theatre. Preview nights are March 30th and 31st. This is the fifth =
production in Karamu's successful 2004/2005 season of "Knocking Down =
Walls: Pain, Pride, Prejudice...and stereotypes." It will be directed by =
Karamu's Artistic Director Terrence Spivey, who staged "for colored =
girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf" to rave =
reviews and sell-out crowds this past Fall.

Dennis McIntyre was born in Detroit, and died in 1989. SPLIT SECOND, an =
explosive encounter between a black Manhattan police officer and a white =
car thief, was produced in New York Off Off Broadway by The Amistad =
World Theatre in 1984. From there it went on to a lengthy Off Broadway =
run and had its European premiere in Edinburgh, and was later presented =
in London, as well as several American cities. This sizzling play is a =
study of conflict between law and morality.=20

Please come with a headshot and prepared monologue not exceeding 3 =
minutes. Rehearsals will start the second week in February 2005.
