NEWS RELEASE

"HOW WE GOT OVER" -- an afternoon of piano and song!

An upcoming Arts Renaissance Tremont concert entitled "HOW WE GOT OVER"

(Sunday, February 20, 2005, at 3:00 p.m.) will showcase the magical
collaboration blending the talents of PHILLIP LAMAR BOYKIN, bass-baritone, and MARGE
ADLER, pianist/arranger. Presented during Black History Month, this joyous
interracial celebration of song will feature their signature performances of
Gospel, spiritual, grand opera, musical theatre and jazz selections.

After coaching Phillip, the legendary, late Dr. William Warfield, star of
stage and screen and renowned for his performances in SHOWBOAT and PORGY AND
BESS, declared:
"Phillip has an extraordinary gift and I am proud to have worked with
him."

Together as a duo, Phillip ("a one-of-a-kind voice, he is superb!") and Marge
("a Cleveland treasure -- with at least three
hands") were recent winners in the American Traditions Competition
(Savannah, GA.)

Join them for their eagerly awaited Cleveland debut in the heart of
historic Tremont:

    PILGRIM CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH
2592 West 14th Street (at Starkweather)
    Cleveland, OH 44113
    216.861-4887
The late Victorian splendor of Pilgrim's sanctuary, with its Tiffany-style
windows and stained domed-glass ceiling, provides a magnificent concert setting.
Remarkable acoustics complement its visual beauty and warmth.
Admission to "HOW WE GOT OVER" is by freewill offering. Parking is available
in adjacent church lots and on the street. Pilgrim Church is wheelchair
accessible.
