Dear Friends,
Drumplay has once again been nominated in the Ethnic/World music category for
the 2005 edition of the Cleveland Free Times Music Awards. We actually won a
couple of years ago (that was a shocker) as Best World Music Act 2002.
In the interim, Drumplay has toured three times in Europe (twice with poet
Daniel Thompson), and from where our last couple of records were recorded. As
most of you are aware, we lost Daniel to leukemia on May 6, 2004. But I swear,
Daniel was with us when we went back to Europe in June last year. There are
too many mind-blowing details to relate here; but I am always ready to tell
the story, if anyone is interested.
Anyway, we sure would like your vote (it's free to register online); and you
can do that by going to www.freetimes.com. Once their home page comes up,
click on the Music Awards section; register your online presence to ensure one
vote per category; and then find us listed among the other nominess under the
Ethnic/World music category. Then cast your vote for Drumplay.
You can also type the following URL into your browser, which links you
directly to the registration process:

In the alternative, you can pick up a copy of the Free Times; and mail in
your ballot. Only one ballot per envelope, please. The ballot must be
postmarked no later than February 8, 2005.
We want to win this one for Daniel. I never got a chance to thank him
publicly; but he knew how we all felt about him. And I know some of you on this
list knew him very personally; and some of you have at least heard of this fine
human being, and are perhaps familiar with his work.
You can hear examples of this work with Drumplay by going to these web pages:
www.cdbaby.com/drumplay
www.cdbaby.com/drumplay2
www.cdbaby.com/drumplay3
The above links will take you to information on the trilogy we were able to
complete with him. There is more in the can, and more to come. Stay tuned.
We here at Drumplay appreciate you taking the time to do this. It would be a
nice win and a nod to Daniel, too. We continue the work.

P. S. See you February 12 at the Algebra Tea House as Friends of Daniel will
raise money for the Poet Stone to be placed at his burial site at Lakeview
Cemetary. The Algebra Tea House is located at 2136 Murray Hill Rd. in Little
Italy.
Donations may also be sent c/o Mac's Backs, 1820 Coventry Road, Cleveland
Heights, Ohio 44120, ascribed to "The Daniel Thompson Poet Stone Fund."
