Wednesday, February 2 in CLEVELAND
The Oberlin String Quartet performs Mozart's String Quartet in B-flat, K.
589 and Beethoven's String Quartet in E-flat, Op. 127 tonight at 8 p.m. in
Severance Hall's Reinberger Hall. The concert is broadcast live on WCLV
104.9 FM and on wclv.com through the generous sponsorship of The Riverside
Company, a leading private equity firm investing in premier companies.
Friday, February 11 in OBERLIN
Oliver Knussen conducts the Cleveland Orchestra in Finney Chapel at 8 p.m.
in a program featuring works by Lindbergh, Knussen, and Rimsky-Korsakov.
Tickets for this Artist Recital Series concert range from $10 to $26; call

Sunday, February 13 in OBERLIN
Composer and Conservatory faculty member Gary Lee Nelson and filmmaker
Christine Gorbach will perform the world premiere of Emergence in Kulas
Recital Hall at 8 p.m. The performance is free and open to the public.
Emergence explores the artistic, philosophical, and scientific
ramifications of evolutionary adaptive behavior. The artists use
mathematical models of flocking, herding, and schooling behavior in birds,
mammals, and fish to create an interactive theatre piece that merges sound
and image.

Jeannette Sorrell conducts the Oberlin Baroque Orchestra in a program of
works by Bach, Telemann, Vivaldi, and Rameau in Finney Chapel at 8 p.m. The
concert is free, but donations are welcome. For more information call

Sunday, February 20 in CLEVELAND HEIGHTS
Jeannette Sorrell conducts the Oberlin Baroque Orchestra in a program of
works by Bach, Telemann, Vivaldi, and Rameau at St. Paul's Episcopal Church
in Cleveland Heights at 7 p.m. The concert is free, but donations are
welcome. St. Paul's is locataed at 2747 Fairmount Blvd., at Coventry;
parking is available in the lot off St. James St., one block west of
Coventry. For more information call 440-775-8610.

The Oberlin Black Musicians' Guild presents a free, public concert honoring
Emeritus Professor of Piano Frances Walker-Slocum. The concert features
jazz pianist Eric Lewis and includes Conservatory students performing music
composed or arranged by black composers in celebration of Black History
Month. Warner Concert Hall, 8 p.m.
