Chagrin Valley Little Theatre

Presents   Smell of the Kill

February 7, 2005 :  For 18 years, three couples have been meeting for a =
monthly dinner. After eating, the men retreat to the living room to =
practice their putting strokes while the women are relegated to the =
kitchen to clean up after them. The wives - Nicky, Debra and Molly - =
seem to have little to bond them except their husbands' longtime =
friendships and lifestyles that, on the surface, seem filled with all of =
the promise of upper middle class suburbia.=20

But, throughout the course of the evening, their veneers begin to peel =
away. Unfulfilled desires are confided, as is the fact that each woman =
is facing the challenge of her life. Nicky, a successful editor, could =
be forced to give up the job she loves. Molly's attentive (to the point =
of smothering) spouse is no longer interested in fulfilling his =
husbandly obligations. And Debra keeps trying to maintain some sense of =
normalcy despite her husband's philandering. When an unexpected accident =
pushes the women to a life-altering decision, what they cook up in the =
kitchen is a bizarre stew of malice, revenge and bittersweet spite.
