Guild's mission is to educate its volunteers and members, in this case high=20
school students, in all aspects of theatre production in ways that would not=

otherwise be available to them," Players Guild President Tony Snyder said in=

reference to the Guild's first High School Shakespeare Festival and its prod=
uction=20
of Romeo and Juliet. Areas of training for the festival=E2=80=99s participan=
ts include=20
scenic, costume and lighting designs, acting, set construction, backstage=20
crew, assistant directing and stage management. The Festival provides high s=
chool=20
students with first time learning opportunities in some of these areas of=20
theatre craft.

The winner of the Set Design Contest is George Maxin, IV. He is a senior at=20
Louisville High School and he will also play the role of Tybalt in the=20
production. George=E2=80=99s winning scenic design is a two-story set that u=
tilizes both=20
movable components and flown scenery pieces to suggest the various locations=
 within=20
the play. The production Costume Designer is Krystal Henning, a junior at=20
Hoover High School. Krystal recently designed several costumes for her schoo=
l=20
production of The Taming of the Shrew and she has also been cast in Romeo an=
d=20
Juliet as Rosalind. The Lighting Designer is Megan Knight, a junior at Jacks=
on=20
High School who has also been cast in the Ensemble. The Stage Manager is Meg=
an=20
McCracken, a 9th grader at Jackson and the Assistant Director is Jillian=20
Roshong, a 10th grader at McKinley.

Cast in the title roles are Matt Devus, a senior at Green High School, as=20
Romeo and Julia Dixon, a 9th grader at Green High School, as Juliet. Alex De=
vus,=20
a senior at Green High School, is playing Mercutio, Josh Newport, a junior a=
t=20
Glenoak, is playing Benvolio, Jacob Kerry, a 10th grader at Louisville, is=20
playing Paris, Aaron Levy, a 10th grader at GlenOak is playing Gregory and=20
Jeremiah Newport, a 9th grader at Glenoak, is playing Moses. Cuyahoga Falls=20=

School junior Jen Handley has been cast in the role of the Nurse, GlenOak ju=
nior=20
Angela Henderson is playing Lady Capulet, Hoover High School senior CiCi=20
Archer is playing Lady Montague, Lousiville 9th grader Caroline Power is pla=

Prince Escalus and Central Catholic 9th grader Maggie Monteleone is a member=

the Ensemble.

Acclaimed Shakespeare director Jason King Jones of Jersey City, New Jersey=20
helms the project and Akron resident and certified fight choreographer Brian=
