RADIUM GIRLS is a powerful drama about the tragedy that resulted from the use of radium in paint in the 1920's. Because of its luminous properties, radium was added to the paint first used during WWI on dials and watches. The dialpainters, all women, applied the paint rapidly and were taught to sharpen the paint brush tips by putting the brush to their lips. Since it glowed in the dark, the paint was subsequently used on many other products and soon became a fad. Unfortunately, the effect of the radium, considered a miracle cancer cure at the time, proved to be fatal to many of the dialpainters. RADIUM GIRLS tells the story of their fight for retribution and justice.

Women's rights, health coverage, commercialization of science and other issues are brought to the fore in this play.

The production is directed by Molly Cornwell. The set design is by Michael Roesch and costume designs by Jasen Smith.

Tickets are $8.00 for Adults, and $6.00 for students and seniors.
Call 932-4214, ext. 7186 for reservations.

It is a really well-done piece of historical fiction.
Hope to see many of you here!
