You are invited to attend an opening reception for "Generation Emerging" an exhibition showcasing original artwork by aspiring and emerging artists between the ages of 18 and 30.  The reception will be held on Friday, February 18, 2005 from 6pm to 9pm at CSU's Art Gallery located at 2307 Chester Avenue. The evening will include food and music by guitarist, Skip Edwards.  This event is free and open to the public.




The exhibit will be open to the public from February 18, 2005 until March 11, 2005 at Cleveland State University's Art Gallery, 2307 Chester Avenue.  (Gallery hours are:  Monday - Friday 10am - 5pm and Saturday Noon - 4pm)

Featured artists include Jared Bell, an 18 year old multimedia artist and freshman at Columbus College of Art and Design; Zack Murphy, an aerosol and graffiti artist originally from the westcoast; Dana Oldfather, a realism painter; Malkiese Paythress, a multimedia and urban conceptual artist; Damon Reaves, a painter and recipient of Sankofa's 2004 Emerging Artist award;  Kimberlee Venable, photographer and 2004 runner-up Sankofa's Emerging Artist award; S.C. Versillee, painter and 2003 recipient of Sankofa's Emerging Artist award; Shaneen Wilson; a collage artist and 2003 runner-up of Sankofa's Emerging Artist award; and Zinga Wilson, a 23 year old self-taught artist.
