as Cleveland Theater Collective Announces New Opportunity for Local Artists

CLEVELAND: The Cleveland Theater Collective invites local playwrights,
actors, songwriters, poets and other artists to present their
performance-based work at "The Dark Room," an informal evening of short
new original material open to the public, beginning on Thursday, March
10, 2005, in the Parish Hall basement performance space on the Cleveland=20
Public Theatre campus at 6205 Detroit Road, adjacent to the CPT's Gordon Squ=
are
Theatre.=20

Beginning at 7:00 PM, anyone may sign up for a slot of ten minutes or less t=
o=20
present a piece of new work as part of the night=E2=80=99s series of reading=
s
which begins at 8:00 PM. Though there will be staffers present to
determine the final order of the material, there will no judging of any
kind. For scripts, writers must bring enough copies for all necessary
readers plus an additional copy for the stage manager (and the reader of
stage directions if necessary), and authors must be present during the
exhibition of their work. Writers can bring their own cast or can "cast"=20
their reading with interested actors, who are also welcome to arrive at 7:00=

participate in the performance of the evening=E2=80=99s offerings as needed.=

Admission is in the form of a donation of $5 ($2 for CTC members) to go
toward the rental of the space. After March 10th, The Dark Room will
