Overwhelming positive critical response for the show!

Cleveland Plain Dealer theatre critic Tony Brown calls the show
“…remarkable.” Regarding the script, he notes, “Morton’s sentences flutter
on the wings of seraphim ....Morton…gives herself over to dancing to the
quirky beat of the vicissitudes of her life. Hip-hooray for Sarah.”

Free Times theatre critic James Damico comments, “It’s almost sinful to have
a nice chunk of your faith in both the theater and the younger generation
restored with one evening’s entertainment. Sarah Morton accomplishes that
neat trick, however, with her solo 4 Minutes to Happy. The author-performer
is a sharp, literate and sensitive thirtysomething…” She “still believes in
the…medium of the drama.”

Scene theatre critic Christine Howey calls the production a “thoroughly
absorbing one-woman show…” She continues, “It is a tribute to Morton’s
writing and performing skills, as well as the sensitive direction of Randy
Rollison, that she can tell this agonizing story while creating so many
laughs along the way.”

You’ve been feeling a little blue lately. You ended your relationship, you
cry a lot and you’ve dumped a lot of money on self-help books and tapes that
don’t seem to be doing the trick. You’ve aced every exam you’ve ever taken
and now you’ve failed the doctor’s depression test. Should you take the
pills or tough it out on your own? Cleveland playwright Sarah Morton takes
you on a comic and moving journey toward happiness.

Production support from The Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation and The
Woodruff Foundation. Produced in association with Recovery Resources.
