or

The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up

A Fantasy in Five Acts

by

J.M.Barrie

In a new NON-MUSICAL version by

John Caird & Trevor Nunn

Directed by Martin Friedman

Sets and Lights Designed by Keith Nagy

Costumes Designed by Craig Tucker and John Larger

 Sound Design by Bill Amato

Choreography by Liz Flynn

Fight Choreography by Kelly Elliot and Josh Brown

THIS IS THE ORIGINAL PLAY, Done WITHOUT Music and using adults and young adults

This particular adapation has never been done in Cleveland. Indeed, it has only been professionally done in the US twice. "...Gone,{is} that simplified and often tacky Peter Pantomime we have endured in recent years past.... Instead we have a resonant and beguiling fantasy." The Guardian

Originally produced and directed by Trevor Nunn by both the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre!

"... The RSC has taken the work out of mothballs and elevated it from the ghetto of children's theatre into a national masterpiece." The Times of London

ALL ROLES ARE PLAYED BY ADULTS or young ADULTS. Peter will be played by a young man, as will all the lost boys. Sorry, there are no childrens' roles.

THE STORY:

This is the beloved story of Peter, Wendy, Michael, John, Captain Hook, Smee, the lost boys, etc, in their adventures in Never Land. This new version of the classic tale has been lovingly and painstakingly researched and restored by John Caird and Trevor Nunn to Barrie's original intentions, with the part of Peter Pan played by a boy as Barrie had desired. The piece is both framed by two storytellers (who may or may not be Barrie himself) who often join in the story's action. This is the real story as Barrie intended it.

Auditions:

Thursday, March 24, 2005 7:00pm till 9:00pm

Saturday, March 26, 2005 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Monday, March 28, 2005 7:00pm-9:00pm

All auditions will be held at Lakeland Community College's Performing Arts Center (PAC). Sorry, no Equity contracts for this production. No need to prepare a monologue. I will have you read directly from the script. Additional auditions and callbacks only as necessary; ALL ROLES ARE WELL COMPENSATED.

Production and Rehearsal dates:
