ST. RICHARD THEATRE COMPANY CELEBRATES 25 YEARS
WITH SEUSSICAL, THE MUSICAL

St. Richard Theatre Company celebrates its 25th anniversary season with
one of Broadway’s most imaginative creations, "Seussical, the musical,"
from April 14 through April 17, 2005, at St. Richard School in North
Olmsted.

Based on familiar Dr. Seuss tales, among them "Horton Hears a Who,"
"Horton Sits on an Egg," and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," Seussical
takes a young imaginative boy named Jojo on a journey full of thinks into
the world of Dr. Seuss, lead by none other than The Cat in the Hat. JoJo
finds himself transported to The Planet of Who, the tiniest planet in the
sky. Beckoning for help, the Mayor of Whoville pleads to anyone who can
hear his tiny voice, as his planet floats aimlessly throughout the
universe. To the rescue comes Horton the Elephant, who stands by his
motto, "a person’s a person, no matter how small." Horton places The
Planet of Who on the head of a soft clover, which is quickly stolen by a
group of mischievous monkeys, leading Jojo, the Whos, and Horton, on a
perilous—but spectacular—adventure, up over the mountains, right into the
sea, onto a wagon headed straight to Palm Beach!

Created by the most ingenious Broadway musical theater creators of our
time, Lynn Ahrens (book and lyrics) and Stephen Flaherty (book and music),
creators of the animated film "Anastasia," and the Tony Award-winning
musical "Ragtime," "Seussical" includes an amazing musical score ranging
from R&B, Latin, and folk, to traditional Broadway ballads. "Seussical"
was also co-created by Eric Idle ("The Holy Grail," and Broadway’s
"Spamalot").

With direction and choreography by St. Richard Theatre Company Artistic
Director Nathan A. Lilly, and musical direction by Kristen M. Nolan,
Artistic Director of St. Mary School’s (Berea) SMS Dramatic Organization,
"Seussical" is a superfluous, fantastical, adventurous show that is sure
to be loved by all ages.

Performances on April 14, 15, and 16, at 7:30 p.m., and April 17, at 2
p.m., at St. Richard School Auditorium, 26855 Lorain Road, North Olmsted.
For tickets call (440) 327-5233.
