TrueNorth Cultural Arts Center announces the inaugural concert of the
TrueNorth Symphony, directed by James Traxler.   The concert, to be given on
Friday, May 6 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Avon Lake, features a
performance of the Mozart Violin Concerto # 5 by Isabel Trautwein of the
Cleveland Orchestra. 

The program also includes performances by the Symphony of "Prelude to the
Afternoon of a Faun" by Claude Debussy and "Finlandia" by Jean Sibelius.

Isabel Trautwein has been a First Violinist with the Cleveland Orchestra
since 2002 and donates her talent to many worthy causes in the area.  She
previously performed with the TrueNorth Chorale in "Sing for the Cure."
Prior to coming to Cleveland, Ms. Trautwein was a member of the St. Louis
Symphony.  She has performed as a soloist with several orchestras and was a
member of the Pacifica Quartet in Chicago.

James Traxler, a resident of Bay Village, is the newly appointed director of
the TrueNorth Symphony, a volunteer orchestra dedicated to playing the great
symphonic masters.  "There are not many opportunities for serious musicians
to play such works in the west suburban area," said Mr. Traxler.  "The
vision of TrueNorth is to provide that opportunity for both amateur and
professional musicians who love great music."

Mr. Traxler until recently was Director of the Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra
at Bay Presbyterian Church.  He is best known in the area as the trumpeter
and co-leader of the "Elders of Jazz."  A Bachelor of Music graduate from
Ohio Wesleyan University, his professional career was in Information
Technology, but he has maintained his interest in music and stated, "The
opportunity to conduct a quality symphony orchestra is the culmination of a
lifelong dream."

Most of the instrumentalists live in Avon Lake, Bay Village and surrounding
communities, but several come from Cleveland and from as far away as Stow
and Warren to play in the group.  Nancy Daniel, another Bay Village
resident, is the Concertmistress of the orchestra.

Admission to the 7:30 pm concert is free of charge. St. Joseph's Church is
located at 32929 Lake Road in Avon Lake. A free-will offering will be taken
to support the TrueNorth Symphony and the other programs of TrueNorth
