North Coast Men’s Chorus Welcomes Borders Stores As Fundraising Partners
CLEVELAND – Northeast Ohio Borders Stores have teamed up with the North Coast Men’s Chorus in a unique approach to fundraising. This weekend, 15% of the purchases of customers presenting a voucher at area Borders stores will be donated to the North Coast Men’s Chorus. Downloadable vouchers are available on the Chorus’ website, www.ncmchorus.org.
“At a time when fundraising for arts organizations is such a challenge, we’re grateful and thrilled that Borders has stepped up to give us a hand,” said Steve Louzos, spokesman for the NCMC. The offer is only good between Friday, April 29th and Sunday, May 1st (the weekend before Mother’s Day) “CD’s and books make great Mother’s Day gifts, and the timing of this couldn’t be more perfect,” added Richard Wilson, Corporate Sales Representative at Borders Westlake store.
Borders has had a long-standing practice of community involvement and this fundraising promotion is the latest example.
Perhaps the highest profile gay organization in Northeast Ohio, the North Coast Men’s Chorus has grown to over 100 singing members, under the direction of Music Director, Richard Cole. The all volunteer organization, founded in 1988 is a community based musical organization which affirms the gay experience by presenting entertaining, quality performances for diverse audiences; providing a supportive environment for its members; and promoting a positive presence in the gay community and beyond.
Upcoming Chorus events include the release of a new CD, The Human Heart on Saturday, May 7tth and North Coast Men’s Chorus Presents Michael Feinstein at the Allen Theatre on Saturday, June 25th. Tickets for both events are available on the NCNC’s website, www.ncmchorus.org
