Just want to offer my HUGE thanks to all who heard my plea! Dilemma not completely solved, but well on the way... I pray! 

Here's what happend... I was successful in getting PowerPoint2002, only to find out that, in addition, they (CCC) got a 'Power Pack' for lack of correct name, with all sorts of extras, that I would apparentlyhave to use in my program!  A friend with PP2003, suggested I come try it, and low and behold, it worked perfectly! Unfortunately, his was not a laptop, so he'll try tomorrow to get me it, in another fashion, otherwise I guess I'll break down and purchase either the 2003 Upgrade for $99, or the Teacher/Student version for $125. At this point, I've come too far not to see it through!! 

Not completely out of the woods yet, but hope to be soon! That said, still less than a day to get the show on the road... (rather, the screen). So, if anyone has any equally generous offers to make, I'm still all ears, at this point... (rather, PowerPoint)!
