The Elyria Summer Theatre Association will hold open auditions for it's =
summer musical Damn Yankees on the following dates:

Saturday May 7th  2 to 5 p.m.
Sunday, May 8th  6 to 9 p.m.
Monday, May 9th  7 to 9 p.m.

ALL ROLES AVAILABLE!
Auditions will be held at First United Methodist Church, 312 Third =
Street (across from Ely Square Park and old Courthouse) in downtown =
Elyria.  Please note that Third Street is a one-way street. Parking and =
entrance is located on Holly Lane behind the church.

Please come prepared with a song in your key and dress for movement.

Characters:

Joe Boyd (Old Joe)  40 - 60 yrs. old  Couch potato baseball fan
Meg Boyd (Joe's wife)  similar age.  Long suffering "baseball widow" =
during the season
Mr. Applegate  30 - 60 The devil who makes a deal for Joe's soul
Joe Hardy 18 - 30  Young super star ballplayer Old Joe turns into=20
Lola  18 - 30  Beautiful seductress Applegate employs to tempt  Joe =
Hardy
Van Buren  30 - 45 Team manager of the hapless Washington Senators
Gloria Thorpe 18 - 35  Brassy newspaper reporter who questions Joe =
Hardy's background
Mr. Welch  35 - 60  Club owner
Ballplayers - Men to play ballplayers of all ages from raw rookies to =
older seasoned veterans.  Most have
                       significant speaking roles.=20
Adults and kids of all ages to play fans & townspeople

Damn Yankees contains some famous musical numbers including "Six Months =
Out of Every Year," "Goodbye Old Girl," "You've Gotta Have Heart," =
"Shoeless Joe From Hannibal, MO." "Two Lost Souls," and "Whatever Lola =
Wants (Lola gets)."  Come join us for a trip back in time to when =
Washington D.C.'s baseball team was called the Senators, and everybody =
(including the Cleveland Indians of the "dark years") beat them =
regularly.  Things haven't changed in one regard - back then, even as =
now, all everyone wanted to do was "...beat those Damn Yankees!"
