CLEVELAND, Ohio (April 20th, 2005)- New paintings and installation by
Cleveland based painter, Susan Danko will be on display at raw & co
gallery located on 1009 Kenilworth Avenue in Tremont from May 13th, 2005
through May 27th , 2005.

Susan Danko graduated with a BFA in painting from the Cleveland
Institute of Art in 1998 and has since exhibited her work in Ohio, New
York, West Virginia and Hungary.  Her work is represented in private as
well as corporate collections.

           =20

Susan Danko's new body of work contains small paintings merged together
into larger units with internal tensions and harmonies. Her palette is
bold and vibrant with an abstract language referring to the local
landscape. Allusions of botanical elements, marine life and fragments of
industrial landscapes superimposed over geometrical textures create
shallow spaces with a vivacious tension in the work. These modular
landscapes allow us to create our own stories and provide us with space
for our own reflections. A large installation will also be on view,
where she is exploring new ways of working with organic shapes created
in a flux and as a result of the process, becoming something familiar
yet unknown.=20
