2005 Ohio Independent Film Festival (OIFF)

Independent Pictures and Greater Cleveland Community Shares co-sponsor a sp=
ecial call=20
for films and videos with social justice themes. The selected film or films=
 will be shown at=20
the Ohio Independent Film Festival in November 2005 as part of Community Sh=
ares' 20th=20
Anniversary education series. In honor of its 20th year of promoting social=
 justice in=20
Greater Cleveland, Community Shares will present a special award to the fil=
mmaker(s),=20
recognizing his/her contribution to the fight against inequality and injust=
ice.

Social justice-themed films may address one or more of the following issue =
areas:
o Civil and human rights
o Gender inequity; rights of women and girls
o Health and environmental issues, particularly as they intersect with othe=
r social issues=20
(such as race, poverty, etc.)
o Health care inequity, injustice
o Racism, discrimination, hate crimes
o Art that makes a difference, changes the world
o Cycle of poverty=97problems and solutions
o Workers' rights
o Voter education, rights, and civic participation
o Community organizing=97the collective power of people to make change
