adaptation of the story =B3Where the Wild Things Are=B2 by Maurice Sendak. Our
lead characters encounter, among other things, pirates, killer whales, a
tsunami, a dumpster diving entrepeneur, and the queen of Atlantis as they
take a journey to the island where the wild things are. Come join us for

New World Children=B9s Theatre Description

The New World Children=B9s Theatre began as The New World Puppet Theatre at
the North Water Street Gallery in Kent, Ohio, in January of 1993.
Originally, it was comprised of home-school children. Throughout the year=
s
, however, it has grown to include public-schooled children as well.

Eventually, the troupe outgrew the puppets and the ensemble became The
New World Children=B9s Theatre, which has produced 20 plays since 1994. In
addition to the emphasis on original play-writing, the company is dedicated
to using recycled materials in the construction of its sets and props. Thi=
s
fosters an understanding of a sustainable planet as well as an understandin=
g
of how to work with limited resources. The only requirement is an active
imagination.

The children are involved in every step of the production process, from
writing and acting, to building the sets and painting the backdrops. Our
goal is to create an atmosphere where children learn important life skills
such as independent thinking, team work, conflict resolution, and turning a
dream into a reality.
