Tyst, a nonprofit organization concentrating on Scandinavian=20
performances, is launching a summer season of plays at Hiram College.=20
There will be an open call for non-Equity actors on Wednesday, May 11,=20=

between 7-10pm in Cleveland Heights.  Callbacks will be held on Friday,=20=

May 13, between 5-9pm.

We are currently looking to cast men and women in their late 20's-50's.

This is a paid gig!!!

Actors who are interested in auditioning should email their resume and=20=

headshot (if available) to: chad at thetriptych.net

You will then be contacted via email with an appointment time and=20
directions to the audition location.  The auditions will involve=20
reading from the script, so you will not need to prepare a monologue.

Dead and Gone to Granny's, a dark comedy by Jussi Wahlgren

Casting:

Patrick - Male, 30's or 40's; conservative businessman at the end of=20
his rope (literally)
Freddie - Male, Patrick's younger brother; an artist, the black sheep=20
of the family (think "Gob" on "Arrested Development")
Linda - Female, 30's or 40's; suburban trophy wife with a talent for=20
manipulation (sort of a "Desperate Housewives" type)

Synopsis:

The play revolves around two brothers and a love triangle involving a=20
woman named Linda.  Patrick is a successful marketing executive; =20
Freddie is a struggling "artist" who is trying to break into reality=20
television with a show called "Live Death" which showcases actual=20
footage of people dying in various ways.  Unfortunately, Freddie is=20
having a hard time getting footage for the pilot episode.  As the play=20=

opens, Patrick's wife is leaving him, and Patrick is planning his=20
inevitable suicide.  Patrick is interrupted when Freddie walks in with=20=

Linda who we later find out is Patrick's (married) neighbor and also=20
happens to be carrying Patrick's unborn child.

At the end of Act I, Patrick is accidentally successful with his=20
suicide.  In Act II, he returns as a ghost to watch and comment on the=20=

lives of Freddie and Linda.  Freddie has temporarily taken on Patrick's=20=

business interests while he is continuing to search for footage for the=20=

pilot of "Live Death."  Ironically, Patrick's death was caught on tape.=20=

  Patrick (the ghost) attempts to help Freddie discover this footage=20
until he learns that Freddie had neglected to share some very important=20=

information regarding an impending business deal.  Patrick then erases=20=

the footage, and Freddie never gets the chance to launch his TV career.

martyr in her own eyes.
Margaret (the cook) - late 40's-mid 50's. strong willed. bitter. angry.=20=

exhausted. not afraid of Mother in the slightest.

Synopsis:

"The Pelican," by August Strindberg, begins approximately one week=20
after the death of the patriarch of the family. =A0 The family now=20
consists of the Mother (Elise), her two children, Frederick and Gerda,=20=

both in their early 20's, and Gerda's husband of one week, Axel.=A0 =
Gerda=20
and Axel have returned home after cutting their honeymoon short for=20
conflicting reasons. While taking inventory of the home, Frederick=20
discovers a letter written to him by his, now deceased, Father.=A0 In it=20=

his Father states that Elise and Axel have an unnaturally close=20
relationship and conspired to kill him. =A0 Frederick reveals this=20
information to Gerda and the two realize that they have been=20
manipulated and deceived by their Mother their entire lives.=A0 =20
Frederick and Gerda vow revenge.=A0 Frederick sets the home on fire and,=20=

in an effort to save herself, Elise jumps out the window.=A0 Frederick=20=

and Gerda, so distraught by their Mother's deceptions and role in their=20=
