Black River Singers Concert
Saturday May 14th 8:00pm Fairchild Chapel

Come hear the Black River Singers, an Oberlin-based choral ensemble, at a
free concert at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday May 14 at Fairchild Chapel in Oberlin.

Director Marci Alegant will conduct the ensemble in two major works.  "Jesu,
Meine Freude," a 5-part choral motet by J.S.. Bach and G.F. Handel's "Dixit
Dominus" a setting of Psalm 110 for solos, mixed choir, and orchestra.  

Soloists include Meagan Brus, Jennifer Jakob, Kira McGirr, Sara Adams, Robin
Hok, Michael Sansoni, and Michael Weyandt.  Orchestra members, students at
the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, will perform on period instruments.

The Black River Singers, a mixed chamber choir, was founded in 1997 by Marci
Alegant, Associate Dean of the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music.

Fairchild Chapel is located on the Oberlin College Campus in Bosworth Hall,
50 West Lorain St (Rt. 511) just west of Rt. 58.
