A young investigator, named Yuriko, inspects the

murder of a despised mining boss on the desolate but

mineral rich planet of Mari. As the case unfolds,

Yuriko learns more about herself than the miserable

conditions of life on the brutal planet. This

allegorical tale is based upon the true story of

Alaska=92s near succession from the US during the 1990s.
