On Monday, April 18, 2005, Mayfield Village City Council unanimously=20
approved the development of a partnership with The Fairmount Center for the=
Creative=20
and Performing Arts to initiate an arts education and performance program=20
for the new Mayfield Village Civic Center. The new center, which will hou=

many of the city offices, will also dedicate its east wing and basement to =20=
a=20
performing arts center, which will include a fully renovated theatre, dressi=
ng =20
rooms, classrooms and office space. =20
Mayfield Village=E2=80=99s strategic plan is to offer a robust arts program=
to the=20
community along with the many sports and recreation facilities and programs=
=20
already in place. =E2=80=9CThe arts program is one of the final pieces of=20=
an=20
encompassing initiative to make Mayfield Village a preferred destination fo=
r visitors,=20
shoppers and home buyers across the state,=E2=80=9D said Mayor Bruce Rinker=

The Fairmount Center for the Creative and Performing Arts is now in plannin=

stages to offer workshops beginning the fall of 2005. Planned offerings=20
include classes in youth theatre, teen theatre, professional acting worksho=

dance, art and music. In addition, the Fairmount Center will produce a=20
season of arts related programming, including professional Equity theatre=20
productions, a full featured teen and youth theatre program, orchestra conc=

dance programs and music recitals. Residents of Mayfield Village will rec=
