THE THING ABOUT  MEN=20
Actors=E2=80=99 Summit Theater announces the regional premiere of The Thin=
g About=20
Men by Joe DiPietro and Jimmy Roberts. The play will have three preview=20
performances on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June 17, 18, and 19, and will=
 play=20
through July at Actors=E2=80=99 Summit Theater in downtown Hudson. =20
The Thing About Men, =E2=80=9Ca musical comedy affair,=E2=80=9D is by the=20=
same team who=20
created I Love You, You=E2=80=99re Perfect, Now Change, the longest-running=
 revue ever=20
to play in New York (now in its seventh year off-Broadway.) Actors=E2=80=
=99 Summit=20
also presented the regional premiere of that play which later had a six mon=
th=20
run at the Hanna Theatre in Cleveland.=20
=E2=80=9CThis is the third play by Joe DiPietro that we=E2=80=99ve produced=
=E2=80=9D said  Artistic=20
Director Neil Thackaberry. =E2=80=9CEach one has been a real crowd pleaser.=20=
We  had to=20
extend both =E2=80=9CLove, Perfect, Change=E2=80=9D and =E2=80=9COver the Ri=
ver and Through the =20
Woods.=E2=80=9D =20
The Play=20
Songwriters Joe DiPietro and Jimmy Roberts tell an improbable story with wi=
t=20
and style that was based on a German Film called simply =E2=80=9CMEN.=E2=
=80=9D =20
Tom is dismayed when he spots a hickey on Lucy=E2=80=99s neck, since he has=
n=E2=80=99t been=20
anywhere near his wife=E2=80=99s neck in over a week. His high-powered job=20=
at an=20
advertising agency; his most recent fling with a woman in his office; and=20
tooling around in his Porsche have kept him too busy for that. Lucy has tak=
en up=20
with bohemian, long-haired painter Sebastian, who lives in a loft and works=
 at=20
Starbucks. While spying on him, Tom discovers that Sebastian is looking for=
 a=20
roommate. Introducing himself as Milo, Tom persuades Sebastian to let him=20
move in. As he attempts to sabotage the affair, chaos and friendship ensues=
. In=20
true musical comedy fashion true love triumphs in the end and everyone live=
s=20
happily ever after.=20
The Cast=20
Four of the cast members are returning to the Actors=E2=80=99 Summit stage.=20=
Jamie=20
Koeth and Sandra Emerick were previously seen in Personals. Tricia Bestic h=
as =20
appeared at Actors=E2=80=99 Summit in Cricket on the Hearth and The World G=
oes Round.=20
Kent LeMar returns for his tenth production at the Hudson professional=20
theater. Joining the Actors=E2=80=99 Summit company for the first time is S=
cott Boulware.  =20
Scott, a graduate of Solon High School, and Northwestern University, =20
currently lives in Philadelphia, but is known to Ohio audiences from his ap=
pearance=20
in the Playhouse Square performance of =E2=80=9CLove, Perfect, Change.=E2=
=80=9D It  was in=20
that production that Scott worked with both Jamie Koeth and Tricia Bestic.=20
