Directions:  Route 2, Exit Edgewater Park and follow the signs to Wendy =
Park and Whiskey Island Marina.  East of the Westerly Water Treatment =
Plant.

In December of 2004, Cuyahoga County purchased 30 acres on Cleveland's =
lakefront on Whiskey Island from Dan T. Moore, a Cleveland businessman =
and entrepreneur.  The purchase included a 500-slip marina and a promise =
of a public park adjacent to the marina property on Whiskey Island.   =
This purchase also preserved the last parcel of natural, publicly =
accessible space on Cleveland's lakefront.  The park is to be named =
Wendy Park in memory of Wendy Moore, daughter of Dan and Marge Moore who =
died in a snow skiing accident several years ago.

On this day, the Moore family who just completed Phase I of the county =
park with private monies will dedicate the park to communities of =
Cuyahoga County and beyond.  The day will not only be a park dedication, =
but a lakefront celebration.  =20

After the dedication, there will be live music preformed by the Whiskey =
Island Ramblers (Celtic Irish Rock band whose immigrant ancestors passed =
through Whiskey Island years ago) and Jam Be and Friends an eclectic =
Jazz ensemble.  There will be plenty of food and beverage venders =
including a pig roast and ice cream.  Other Activities include special =
guest speakers at 1:00pm and a petting zoo from noon until 3pm and face =
painting.

This is a community park and people are encouraged to come down and =
participate in the festivities and enjoy the park.  Bring a volleyball =
and get in on a pick-up beach volleyball game, or bring a kayak and =
launch it right from the beach or explore the new park with it great =
views of downtown Cleveland, the Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie.  Kites =
will be supplied to the first 20 kids under 12.
