In a lonely English manor, Archibald Craven yearns for his beautiful, late
wife and becomes ever more isolated from his bedridden son.  Their world is
turned upside down when a young girl is sent to live with them following th=

grounds and, in nursing it back to life, releases the magic and adventure
locked up inside, transforming their lives forever.

Mindy McKeown and Zero G (Mike Williams on bass, Philip Faia on drums and
percussion, Pete Simon on electric guitar and Jim Simon on acoustic guitar,
keyboards and vocals) is high energy funk rock paired with the sultry,
soulful voice of lead singer McKeown.  SWIM is a modern pop rock band lead
by the infectious crooning of Chad Armstrong, clever songwriting and musica=
l
prowess.

Featuring Folknet artists Kerry Kean, Galgozy & Ingersoll, Jim Gill &
Friends, Jim Kozel & Doc Dreyfuss
Saturday, June 25.  Alma Theater, 7:30pm.  FREE.
Kerry Kean plays and sings many styles of music, including rock, folk,
bluegrass, jazz and swing.  He is following up his first release of origina=
l
fingerstyle guitar instrumentals with another CD.  Galgozy & Ingersoll draw
from country, jazz swing, Celtic and pop to create their own "down-home"
sound.  From being featured performers at the Kelleys Island Brewery two
summers ago to sharing the stage with John Gorka, Jim Gill & Friends are
captivating audiences with their original folk/rock music.  Bringing
together a lifetime of musical passion, Jim Kozel (singer/songwriter &
guitarist) & Doc Dreyfuss (electric viola) create an eclectic show of
original compositions ranging from smooth blues and jazz to haunting "high
lonesome" ballads.

Featuring Folknet artists Jim Anderson, Steve Madewell, Lisa & Heather
Malyuk, Charley Brown

Guitarist Jim Anderson played in several Cleveland rock 'n roll bands in th=
e
late 60s and 70s notably The Choir ("It's Cold Outside").  Steve Madewell
has a successful career in the conservation field and enjoys writing songs
that tell stories inspired by the landscape, life and love.  Lisa & Heather
Malyuk are newcomers to the folk music scene but have already their first
CD, Summer's End, hoping to preserve and revive the culture of traditional
music.  Charley  Brown is a masterful guitarist who's been writing timeless
songs in a style combininb folk, rock, country, blues and jazz for 40 years=
.

JAZZ IN THE AFTERNOON=8BBARBARA KNIGHT QUINTET
Sunday, June 26 from 1 to 4pm.  Alma Theater.  FREE.
Vocalist Barbara Knight, pianist Dan Murphy, bass player David Morgan and
drummer Mark Gonder perform classic jazz with a twist.

characterized as contemporary and abstract, sometimes making subtle
reference to the human figure.  A sense of spirituality infuses Kathleen
Totter=B9s Raku, paper and fiber works.
