Cleveland=E2=80=99s newest Performing Arts Training and Entertainment Center=
on Detroit=20
Avenue.

Within this new arts complex located at 62nd and Detroit Avenue, are two=20
fantastic new venues available for rental including: the =E2=80=9COrthodox=
=E2=80=9D (formerly=20
St. Mary=E2=80=99s Romanian Orthodox Church, built in 1907) as well as =E2=
=80=9CThe Parish=20
Hall.=E2=80=9D
=20
VENUE
ORTHODOX
=20
Nestled within the former Romanian Orthodox Church built in 1907 is the=20
theater known as the =E2=80=9COrthodox=E2=80=9D. This venue is a beautiful=20=
75 seat intimate=20
black-box theater. Due to the age of the building, electrical upgrades have=20=
been=20
scheduled for service. At present the sound and acoustics of the venue are=20
perfect. Bathrooms are in the process of being remodeled. The facility has=
full=20
air conditioning and heat throughout.=20
VENUE
THE PARISH HALL
The Parish Hall is a fantastic 150 to 200 seat theater, capable of handling=20
large productions, concerts, conventions, festivals, classes and wedding=20
receptions. Due to the buildings age, electrical upgrades have been schedul=
ed for=20
service. A large back stage area is available with a private bathroom. Thi=
s=20
facility has full heat throughout and new ceiling fans have been scheduled f=
or=20
implementation. Fully upgraded and remodeled bathrooms and sitting area are=
=20
located in the basement of the venue. Also located within the basement is t=
he=20
=E2=80=9CGreen Room=E2=80=9D lounge. This is a project in process. When it=
is finished it=20
will be a lounge for theater patrons to come to before and after shows. It=20=
will=20
be an intimate setting with live entertainment.
PARKING=20
One of the many wonderful amenities of this space is that we have our own=20
fenced in parking lot. This lot is located within the Detroit Avenue Arts=20
complex and has the capacity of 50 cars to be parked within it. Also locate=
d next=20
door is another parking lot that can be used as an overflow if the fenced in=
=20
lot becomes full.=20
WHO IS THE DETROIT AVENUE ARTS?=20
James Levin has championed the cause of =E2=80=9Ctheatre as social change=
=E2=80=9D, he has=20
provided access to creative resources to the under-served, has produced over=
=20
twenty seasons of thought-provoking productions at CPT and has nurtured the=20
positive growth, change and revitalization of the Detroit Avenue Area since=20=
he=20
founded Cleveland Public Theater in 1984.=20
Jeff Blanchard early on was a company member of Giant Portions, one of=20
Cleveland=E2=80=99s first improvisational comedy troupes. Later in 1995 he=20=
Co-Founded=20
Cabaret Dada Improvisational Theater where he served as Artistic Director fo=
r the=20
first 5 years. He also founded The Cleveland Black Box Theater and was=20
Artistic Director from 1995-2000. Recently, Jeff Co-Founded the Cleveland Im=
prov=20
Institute with Don Mitri.
Don Mitri was a performing company member of Cabaret Dada Improvisational=20
Theater from 1996-2000. Don recently Co-Founded the Cleveland Improv Institu=
te in=20
Downtown Cleveland with Jeff Blanchard. Don Mitri and Jeff Blanchard=E2=80=
=99s goal=20
was simple: provide the best training from some of the finest instructors=20
teaching improvisational comedy theater today. =20
