TrueNorth Cultural Arts will present a Patriotic Concert on Sunday, July =
3rd, 6:30 p.m. outside under the stars, at the TrueNorth Plaza, 33491 =
Lake Road, just west of Moore Road in Avon Lake. The Concert will =
feature the TrueNorth Chorale and Symphony under the direction of =
Richard A. Fortney. In case of poor weather, the concert will take place =
at St. Joseph's Church in Avon Lake at 8:00 p.m. The concert is free and =
open to the public.=20
The patriotic concert is being sponsored by the Avon Lake Recreation =
Department and is the opening of the city's Concert in the Park Summer =
series. The Series will continue throughout the summer on Sunday =
evenings at Miller Road Park, Sunday's 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Bring your =
folding chairs, or a blanket for the ground, and enjoy a variety of =
music in the beautiful lakefront setting.=20
TrueNorth has performed its Patriotic concert for 5 seasons. In 2001 =
they raised over $3,000.00 for the New York Police Officers and Fire =
Fighters; In 2002 TrueNorth led the city of Cleveland in a Concert of =
Prayer, on the 1-year remembrance of 9-11, sponsored by the Cleveland =
Federal Executive Board.
The concert will include the Presentation of Colors, Folding the Flag =
and the retiring of Colors. There will be a time of recognizing our =
veterans, active Military and their families; there will be a time of =
remembrance. Songs such as America the Beautiful, When the Saints Go =
Marching In, Battle Hymn of the Republic, and God Bless America will be =
featured, as well as the Stars and Stripes Forever.
TrueNorth Cultural Arts is a multi-disciplinary arts organization =
committed to building and strengthening individuals and the community =
through the performing arts, the visual arts, and the humanities. =
TrueNorth's vision is two-fold: To educate, equip, and empower =
individuals so they can embrace and succeed in the creative arts, and to =

children and their parents in music and movement activities.
Kid's Art will be created throughout the day, hands-on activities for =
one and all!
Ceramics! The Pottery Studio will be open to try your hand at the =
pottery wheel. All will be invited to make their own stepping stone.
Poet and author, Joette McDonald will be reading poetry inside the =
Center and book signing her recent poetry book.
TrueNorth Resident Artists will be working in their studios giving you =
the opportunity to experience both the art and the artist!
Each hour an art class will be held in the Center's new hall presenting =
classes in basic drawing, mixing colors, watercolor, print making, =
jewelry making, calligraphy, and more!
The TrueNorth Gallery will be featuring the theme, "Celebrate the Lake" =
featuring the TrueNorth Artists as well as an additional 60 artists from =
the Lake Erie Artist League.=20
Outside there will fun for the entire family .
30 artists from throughout the area featuring wood carving, glass =
etching, and more!
Food! Featuring the Plaza's many restaurants as well as vendors selling =
cotton candy, candy apples and the like!
Mini - Classic Car Show featuring 8 cars; Putt-putt Golf; Inflatables =
