Why: To claim and explore the place of art in worship, to connect
artists with the Creator and in fellowship with each other,
and to permit and promote the contagious inspiration that
comes from developing and rejoicing with our creative gifts.

http://www.firstfriends.org/arts for registration information.
Stones in the Path…Altars, Memorials, Tablets, and Gems is the theme for the
2nd Annual First Friends Arts Conference, which will be held at First
Friends Church, 5455 Market Avenue North, Canton on July 8th and 9th.
Workshops and clinics include the following topics: writing (personal essay,
song lyrics, poetry), storytelling, dance, photography, woodburning
techniques, clay art, oil painting, art therapy, instrumental & comedy
improvisation, unlocking creativity, rubber stamping, and discussions
exploring arts issues and arts in worship. Thirty sessions in all.
Friday sessions (12:30 to 5:30p) will be followed by an Italian buffet
dinner and round table discussions (5:30 to 7pm). Beginning at 7 pm a
dynamic worship performance integrating multiple artforms will be offered
free and open to the public. Coffeehouse and Open Mic time (9-11p) will
wrap up the evening.
Saturday sessions (8:30a to 6p), highlighted by a special film screening and
lunchtime concert, culminate in a 6pm Cookout Dinner for all participants.
Coffeehouse and Open Mic time (7-10p) will round out the conference.

early registration.
