WILBERFORCE by Keith Josef Adkins (former writer of the UPN series
Girlfriends) in association with UMOJA ARTS INC(Cleveland) has been selected 
to
the 2005 National Black Theater Festival in Winston-Salem, NC.

Jimmie D. Woody of Umoja Arts will direct "Wilberforce” the story of a
rambunctious teen suffering with sickle-cell in pre Civil War Ohio, and
how the opening of Wilberforce, America's first black college, throws
she and her family into an unforgettable chain of events.

Wilberforce features: James Seward (Shepard), Sonia N Bishop (Anna Rosa),
Hollis Hayden Jr. (Devalue), Christopher Webb (Ben) and Chayla Marie Owens
as (Dannie). The play will be accompanied musically by former Blues
Casters front man Bobby Williams.

Wilberforce is the first play to kick off the week of theater and festivties
on Tuesday, August 2 at 3p.m. and 8p.m..
