The Northern Ohio Chapter of Choristers Guild will host a SACRED MUSIC
CHORAL READING WORKSHOP on JULY 30, 2005    9 a.m. -- NOON in the Kulas
Musical Arts Building at BALDWIN WALLACE CONSERVATORY, 96 Front Street,
Berea, OH.
Sevilla Morse (Children's Choir Literature) and Judith Higbee (Youth and
Adult Choir Literature) will be the clinicians for the event. You will
have the chance to learn fresh ideas and choir tips, meet colleagues
over coffee & snacks, and receive over $50 worth of music. 
 
REGISTRATION FEE: $15 (postmarked July 15) $20/Late Registration or at

Sevilla Morse will lead the session on CHILDREN'S CHOIR LITERATURE. An
accomplished musician, director, and teacher, Sevilla taught for 30
years in elementary and secondary public and private schools. She is a
former member of the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus (under Robert Shaw and
Robert Page), Cleveland Opera Chorus, and Robert Page Singers. Sevilla
is also the former Director of the Cleveland Orchestra Children's
Chorus, Cleveland Opera Children's Chorus and the Children and Youth
Choirs of Rocky River United Methodist Church where she was soprano
soloist as well.  In 1989, Sevilla founded the Riverside Children's
Choir of Riverside Academy of Music, which recently merged with the Beck
Center for the Cultural Arts in Lakewood, Ohio. Under Sevilla's
direction, The Riverside Youth Choirs at Beck Center boast 220 children
in five skill levels.
 
Judith Higbee will lead the session on YOUTH and ADULT CHOIR LITERATURE.
Judith holds both her undergraduate degree in Music Education/Voice and
her Master's degree in Choral Conducting from Westminster Choir College
in Princeton, NJ where she studied with Joseph Flummerfelt, Dennis
Schrock, and Elaine Brown.  She also served as Apprentice Assistant
Conductor to Michael Korn at the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts
and with the Philadelphia Singers. Judith has taught music at all levels
from elementary through college as well as serving as Director of Music
for churches in PA, NJ, WA, TX and OH.  Currently she is completing her
10th year at Church of the Saviour in Cleveland Heights where she has
oversees a graded choir program of 10 choirs, 3 worship services and
Arts in the Cathedral. Judith served 2 terms as the Repertoire and
Standards Chair for Music and Worship for the Ohio Choral Directors
Association as well as serving as President of the Washington State
Chapter of Choristers Guild. Recently Judith accepted the position of
Vice President for the Northern Ohio Chapter of Choristers Guild.
