Cleveland, OH-- The Beck Center for the Arts proudly
presents AIDA, opening on the Mackey Main Stage July 15th and running
through August 14th. AIDA is a musical bursting with contemporary
energy that tells the story of the love triangle between Aida, a Nubian
princess stolen from her country, Amneris, an Egyptian princess, and
Radames, the soldier they both love. Based on Verdi's opera of the same
name, AIDA is a classic epic tale of love, loyalty, betrayal, and
courage. AIDA's exhilarating Tony(r) and Grammy(r) award-winning score
is Elton John and Tim Rice's first collaboration since writing the music
for The Lion King. =20

The Beck Center's Artistic Director, Scott Spence directs this rousing
show featuring Musical Staging and Choreography by Martin Cespedes and
Musical Direction by Larry Goodpaster. "In so many ways this is the
perfect summer musical." says Spence. "Amazing voices, a classic story,
sumptuous costumes, and lighting add up to a 'not to be missed' Beck
Center show!" AIDA features New York City actress Colleen Longshaw in
the title role, as well as Cleveland favorites Laurel Held-Posey as
Amneris and Ian Atwood as Radames. Kevin Joseph Kelly is featured as
the evil Zoser.

The Beck Center's production of this timeless story of AIDA is sponsored
by WMJI/Magic 105.7, Cleveland.com, Gay People's Chronicle, and
LakewoodBuzz.com. Show times are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at
8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. =20
