CLEVLEND, OH – Sunday August 21, marks the third time Jason Peterson has honored Zion UCC of Tremont, 2716 West 14th St., Cleveland, OH by including us in his annual concert tour. He will be playing Sextet Opus 6 for five wind instruments and piano, by composer Ludwig Thuille, featuring a Woodwind Ensemble and Johannes Brahms’ Piano Quintet in F minor, Opus 34 featuring a String Ensemble. Both of the ensembles are musician members of the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra. The concert begins at 3:00 P.M. in the sanctuary. An ice cream social will follow the concert where recordings, including Mr. Peterson’s newest release will be on sale and an opportunity to meet Mr. Peterson and the members of the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra ensembles. In conjunction with the concert, Zion UCC will host an exhibit of paintings by local area artists. The church is handicap accessible with ample parking in the area. Concert tickets are $10.

23-year-old classical pianist Jason Peterson is quickly gaining recognition as one of America's leading young keyboard artists and has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe. At age 17, Mr. Peterson was awarded a grant from the Chopin Foundation of the United States, Inc., and subsequently became the first-ever four-time recipient of the award, which sponsors him as a competitor in the upcoming National Chopin Piano Competition in Miami and the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland.

Recent performances have included solo recitals in Vienna, London, Milwaukee, Rochester, Chicago, Cleveland, Phoenix, Denver, Raleigh and Austin, among others. Two recent outdoor performances of the Tchaikovsky 1st Piano Concerto with the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra drew over 20,000 listeners. In February 2005 Mr. Peterson performed on the prestigious Dame Myra Hess Memorial Series in Chicago, which was broadcast live nationwide via radio and cable television. Upcoming performances include engagements throughout the United States and in Europe. For additional information on Mr. Peterson call (608) 742-5712 or email him at info at jasonpeterson.net.
