HOLY NAME STUDENTS IN THE SPOTLIGHT WITH LOCAL ARTIST

Cleveland, OH – July 19, 2005

	Holy Name High School students will get a taste of
what it’s like backstage at a real concert as they
help develop and run a live concert for their benefit
at 7:00pm on July 24th, 2005 at the Cassidy Theatre in
Parma Heights.

	Local performing artist Melissa Barber will light up
the Cassidy stage in her hour-long cabaret show themed
Once On This Radio. Not only will the concert feature
show tunes, well-known standards and Christian
favorites, it will feature approximately 25 Holy Name
Summer Musical Theatre Workshop students selling
tickets, pulling curtains, calling technical cues and
more.

	Matching up students with real life is the focus of
the project, and the proceeds from the event will go
directly back to Holy Name High School, which is in
it’s 90th year of operation. Students will be involved
in planning and promoting the show, as well as running
the front and back of house operations on the day of
the performance. Workshop leader, Michael C. Mazur,
and Concert Producer, Kate Klotzbach will help to
coordinate the students.

	Barber (who also co-hosts her own weekly talk show
called Married to the Host on WHK 1420am) will take
the audience back to a time when songs on the radio
were of a certain quality and radiated a certain
timelessness. It will showcase numbers like “I Get a
Kick Out of You”, “Cabaret”, and “How Great Thou Art.”
 Appearing with Melissa will be Fox 8 TV’s Todd Meany,
and other local guests. The concert will also include
a benefit raffle with many local and
performance-related prize items.

	The concert will take place at the Cassidy Theatre
(6200 Pearl Rd) in Parma Hts, OH at 7:00pm on Sunday,
July 24, 2005. All benefit tickets are $10.00
available only at the door: first come, first seated.
