BIOGRAPHIES

Cihtli Ocampo
After debuting in Farruquito's =93Alma Vieja=94 at the Arriaga Theater =
in Bilbao
, Spain in February, 2004, Ms. Ocampo is quickly becoming one of =
Flamenco's
most promising young dancers. Born in San Diego , CA , Ms Ocampo has =
worked
in several well-known companies, such as American Bolero Dance Company,
based out of Carnegie Hall , NY , under the direction of Gabriela =
Granados
and Carlota Santana Flamenco Vivo, with which she has performed as a =
soloist
in various national tours and at the Julliard school in Lincoln Center . =

In 1999 Ms. Ocampo was awarded the William J. Fulbright scholarship to =
study
Flamenco and Spanish Dance in Madrid and Seville , Spain . After =
spending
six months training in Madrid with Maria Magdalena, Cristobal and Manuel
Reyes, Belen Maya, and Eva la Yerbabuena, Cihtli moved to Seville to =
study
exclusively with the Farruco family. She has been with them ever since =
and
is now a member of Farruquito's company. Her training with the Farruco
family has most recently been enhanced by studies with Manuela Carrasco =
and
Angelita Vargas, and =93bata de cola with Yolanda Heredia.=20

>From March of 2002 to July of 2003, she was a featured dancer along with
Luis Amaya at =93La Carboneria=94 in Seville . Ms. Ocampo has shared the =
stage
with Antonio Canales, Juana Amaya, Manolete and Manolo Soler, and has
performed with Farruquito, Farruco chico , La Faraona, Manuel Molina, =
Montse
Cortes, Adella Campallo, Antonio Moya, Juan del Gastor, Luis Agujetas, =
Las
Peligros, El Ni=F1o Jero, El Chicharo, Chuscales and Tito Puento. In the
summer of 2003 she completed working on =93Exile=94 her first feature =
film
directed by Tony Gatlif, director of =93Lacho Drom=94 and =93Vengo=94. =
Currently she
is preparing for performances in Paris with La Macanita and Diego de =
Morao.=20

Ms Ocampo's style is often described as a blend of Carmen Amaya and the
Farruco family. She is known for her strength and power while =
maintaining an
elegance of line that comes from a lifetime of dancing. When she dances, =
she
takes her audience to a very personal, almost forbidden place where they =
are
forced to face their own emotions...She dances because she knows no =
better
way to express herself or communicate with others. She teaches because =
she
is committed to preserving and diffusing flamenco at it's purest, most
visceral form.=20

After seeing Cihtli perform, Carmen Amaya's biographer, Mario Bois, =
wrote:
=93...this girl is truly exceptional...she danced with a man's suit and =
I was
reminded of Carmen Amaya. She is strong and astounding, something you do =
not
see every day.=94=20

ETHAN MARGOLIS=20
Born in Santa Cruz , California , Ethan comes from an entire family of
musicians. His father, brother, cousins and uncle all have been involved =
in
music for the majority of their lives. It is this source that has =
provided
Margolis with a profound love and dedication for the creation and
performance of musical art.=20

In September of 1999, Margolis moved to Seville . He has studied guitar =
with
a wide variety of top level artists including Antonio Moya, Juan del =
Gastor,
David Serva and Cristobal del Melchor. His studies of baile and baile
accompaniment have been led by Farruquito, Farruco chico , Farruca, La
Faraona, La Gallardi, La Hachar=E1, and Angelita Vargas. Margolis' =
dedication
to a purist style of accompaniment has taken him to the few places and
families where that purity and excellence still exist, namely the =
Bacans,
the Gastors, the Pe=F1as, the Agujetas, and the Farrucos.=20

In March of 2003, Margolis began working as one of the house guitarists =
at
the Carboneria in Seville alongside Carlos Heredia, Cristobal del =
Melchor,
and Antonio Moya. In April of 2003, Ethan was invited to play for Las
Peligros at the Feria de Sevilla. In May of that same year he played for =
the
Amaya family in the Feria de Marbella. He also participated in the =
Fiesta de
Utrera y Lebrija en Rocio where he accompanied Pepa de Benito and Ines
Bac=E1n.=20

In addition to working at the Carboneria, Mr. Margolis plays regularly =
at El
Mundo, Associacion Antigua de Sevilla, and the Pe=F1a Torres Macarena.
accompanying some of Seville 's top young dancers, including La =
Gallardi,
Luis Amaya and Marina Martinez. In June of 2003, Margolis produced and
played in the U.S. performances of Baile Flamenco and Entre Utrera y =
Lebrija
at the University of Michigan 's RC Auditorium.=20

Mr. Margolis has accompanied a wide array of cantaores (flamenco =
singers) on
and off the stage. Some of these artists include: Manuel de Paula, Tomas =
de
Perrate, Luis Agujetas, Las Peligros, Jarillo de Triana, El Varilla, =
Mari
Pe=F1a, La Negra de Utrera and El Manzano. He has participated in =
fiestas with
the Farrucos, Manuel Molina, Rafael Riqueni, El Potito, Remedios Amaya,
Bastian Bac=E1n, Diego Carrasco, Gaspar de Utrera, Dorantes, Roman =
Vicenti, El
Perla, Mari Vizarraga, Martin y Juana la del Revuelo, La Macanita, =
Guadiana
, El Extreme=F1o, Ramon El Portugues, Rancapino and El Lebrijano.=20
