RABBIT RUN THEATER PROUDLY PRESENTS. . .=20

"I HATE HAMLET"

Few remain who remember John Barrymore for the true genius he displayed =
in his revolutionary portrayal of Hamlet on Broadway in the 1920's. =
Barrymore, the quintessential Hamlet, will once again take center stage =
not as an actor but as a ghost as Rabbit Run Theater presents "I Hate =
Hamlet" beginning August 12. "I Hate Hamlet", written by Paul Rudnick =
and directed by Ann Hedger is a witty comedy filled with clever =
one-liners.=20

The story centers around Andrew Rally (played by John Busser), an =
out-of-work soap opera star. Andrew hopes to secure a leading role on =
Broadway but through the efforts of his aging, Marlena Dietrich-type =
agent Lillian Troy (Janet Shank) is offered a gig in Central Park =
playing Hamlet. Enters realtor, Felicia Dantine (played by Jacinda =
Sandness) who shows Andrew a flat likely decorated by King Arthur and =
which was, in fact, Barrymore's apartment in years prior. Knowing =
Andrew's hesitancy to accept the role of Hamlet, Dantine, also an =
amatuer psychic, conjures the ghost of Barrymore (Bob Kilpatrick) in an =
attempt to allay Andrew's fears. Reluctantly Andrew accepts the role and =
rents the apartment to the delight of his hopelessly romantic =
girlfriend, Deidre McDavey (Caitlin Sandham). Andrew's friend, =
writer-producer-director Gary Lefkowitz (portrayed by Derek Adams), with =
his exaggerated Californian view of life adds much to spice the =
conversation. Barrymore seeing he has guests begins to "interact" =
with each of them in varied and amusing venues.

Of course, not everyone sees Barrymore's ghost and the banter that =
ensures between those who can and those who can't see the ghost is =
nothing short of hilarious. Clever words and humor are not the only =
draws to this play. "The sword fight between Andrew and Barrymore is =
fantastic," said Ann Hedger, director of the production. "These two men =
(Busser and Kilpatrick) have worked for weeks under the direction of =
fight choreographer Shaun Seaber, to perfect the fight scene-it's just =
awesome."=20
