Teach me to sing….	

So, funny story, I was talking to a friend the other
day about singing and she said her voice doesn’t hurt
after she sings…and I was like, “is that supposed to
happen?”

Here is the deal, I’m the lead singer in a band and
every time we play or practice I lose my voice and my
throat is killing me all throughout the following day.
I heard that’s not normal, and I’m sure there are
techniques that would help me to sing without
destroying my vocal chords.

So, I’m looking for an inexpensive (read: cheap) vocal
coach who can teach me how to properly use my voice. I
am a 23 year old female singer who sings (and screams)
in a rock/soul band. I’m not the greatest singer in
the world, and my expectations are not to become the
greatest singer in the world, I simply want to remain
healthy and not be a mute by the time I hit 30.

Please forward any suggestions of where to look for
vocal training, or if any of my NEOhioPAL buddies want
to give me a few lessons, that would be great too!
