Lock 3 Park in downtown Akron. Both performances begin at 7 PM. Lock 3
is located on Main St. between the Akron Civic Theatre and the former
O’Neil’s building.

August 14^th at the Main Library in the Children’s Area at 2 PM both days,

Ingénue Theatre Ensemble is an educationally based program in which
students are encouraged to develop their characters both onstage and
off. Ingénue is essentially an equal opportunity based program, and
seasons consist of two or three plays ranging from Shakespearian drama
to original work written by the ensemble. The theatre company has been
in existence since 1998 under the direction of Suzie Graham/. /Since
then, the youth ensemble has stepped into directing as well as writing.
Children ages 3-17 are invited to participate in productions regardless
of experience levels.

The Lock 3 Summer Arts Experience began 2 years ago through the City of
Akron, serving as an educational artistic experience with the intent of
giving students insight into the professional art world. Apprentices are
taught by a master artist for the entire summer. At the end of the
summer, apprentices are then compensated for their efforts at a
graduation ceremony. Lock 3 welcomes Wendy Duke, drama teacher at Miller
South School for the Visual and Performing Arts, as their master artist
in theatre production. This year, /Between the Blacktop and the White
Clouds/ is being presented by ten apprentices in theatre production.
They have cast the show, designed the production and directed scenes.
The cast of 30 children from ages 3-15 are members of the Ingénue
Theatre Ensemble.

All performances are free and open to the public.
