Saint Joseph Academy (high school) is looking for a combined Set =20
Designer/Tech Director for their November musical Sunday in the Park with Ge=
orge.  The=20
director is local Equity actor Patrick Janson ("Archibald Craven" in The =20
Secret Garden this summer at Cain Park) who has been the Chair of the Perfo=
rming=20
Arts and director of musicals for the past seven years at SJA.=20
We realize that Sunday in the Park with George is an ambitious undertaking=20
for a high school (this may be the 1st production in Cleveland, ever, we're=
=20
looking it up), but we plan to stage the show in a smaller scale as it was=20=
in=20
the original production at Playwright's Horizon off-Broadway (which the=20
creators actually preferred). If you have seen the DVD of the musical, ple=
ase do=20
not be intimidated or think that we are going to try to recreate that set.=20=
 We=20
have a modest stage space, but a workable budget, high quality talent, an=20
enthusiastic crew, and an amazing artist who will paint a backdrop to look=20=
like=20
the background of the "La Grande Jatte" painting. The last person to we=20
need for this marvelous show is someone willing to get creative and bring a=20=
=20
strong visual element to it!=20
Please call "Mel" Kupchik (that=E2=80=99s a woman, FYI) at 216-251-6788 x323=
 if  you=20
have an interest in meeting us. As producer, Mel can tell you more about=20
salary, budget and timetable. You can feel free to email Patrick Janson a=
t=20
_pjanson02 at aol.com_ (mailto:pjanson02 at aol.com)  if you have other questions=20=
about=20
the  production.
