AUDITION REMINDER - Geauga Lyric Theater Guild

Auditions for "Dark of the Moon" are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday,
August 22 and 23, at 7pm at the Geauga Theater in Chardon.
"Dark of the Moon," set in the early 20th century Smoky Mountains is the
story of a young male witch, John, who wants to become human in order to
marry Barbara Allen, a young mountain woman. The use of magical spells help
this to happen, but with the usual "strings attached." Like The Crucible,
which was written several years later, "Dark Of The Moon" plays on the
extremes of closed cultures. John and Barbara get caught in the middle of
this culture clash, with tragic results.
Twenty-three roles are available, spanning the age ranges of adolescent
through senior citizen. The play incorporates traditional country folk and
gospel music, with many roles requiring some singing. Auditioners can sing
songs from the script, or bring their own songs and sheet music. An pianist
will be present to accompany singers.
"Dark of the Moon" will run on weekends in October. For more information,
please call the director, Martha Vail, at 440-564-9503.
