Local psychologist, Pamela V. Merkys is on a roll with her  other career: 
dramatic scriptwriting. 

She recently won a First Place in the Gloria International Film Festival,  
Salt Lake City, Utah, for her script, "The Yellow Wallpaper." 

The Gloria Film International Festival is family oriented  "showcase of films 
that stir the soul, heal the heart, and enrich the  world."

"The Yellow Wallpaper" is an adaptation of a short story by Charlotte  
Perkins Gilman about a young Victorian mother's descent into madness in the  hands 
of her loving family.

In addition, Pamela V. Merkys is a semifinalist in the Kaos Film  Festival in 
Great Britain, and was a quarter finalist in the prestigious Page  
International Film Festival.

Her second New York play production is planned for later this season,  
off-off Broadway. Her first play, "Stuck," was performed  in NYC at the  Studio 
Theatre, off-off Broadway last December.

Currently she has other plays being considered for production in Boston and  
Houston..
