DANCEVERT
cancels
"ALMA" performance(formerly ALMA DE LA TIERRA, Soul of the Land) from Day of
the Dead Festival.
After last year's successful 1st Festival of the Day of the Dead produced by
DANCEVERT, Susana and Tom Evert wanted to produce the 2nd annual Festival this
year, however their priorities have changed. The extreme demand of their
attention and energy have caused the company to make it necessary to cancel their
participation in the Festival. The demands and priorities of their artistic,
business and educational activities are many and different. Their award-winning
production ALMA DE LA TIERRA (ALMA)will not be performed this year in a main
venue, however the educational version will be presented in schools.
DANCEVERT collaborated with NASA at INGENUITY FESTIVAL two weeks ago, and
with Jordan Davis, creating two beautiful and magical works that generated much
interest and deep feelings from their audiences and media. An article about
their unique collaboration with NASA- will be posted soon in NASA's website (
will be sent).
Please follow our schedule as we will continue to perform locally and abroad,
creating new works collaboratively and independently, and working with
different educational programs.
Our upcoming event is on Friday, September the 16th at 7PM with other
renowned Cleveland Companies at the Palace Theater- Play House Square.
Susana will perform a solo entitled "Ofrenda" ( Offering), set to music by
Beethoven, and Tom will perform his signature solo "Petition."
Following this event DANCEVERT will be performing with "Facing East," an
internationally renowned world music group directed by master flutist John
Wubbenhorst ( who are currently on a national tour). This event will be held in the
beautiful new gallery of visual artist Kathy Skerritt, located at Superior
Avenue and 24th Street, (the old red church).The public will have the pleasure to
view Ms. Skerritt's art in exhibit, and learn the connection of these artists
to their Spiritual Master,
The Ruchira Avatar Adi Da Samraj.
Many other events will follow this one. DANCEVERT continues creating,
performing, traveling with their chamber repertoire, educating and being an important
part of Cleveland's cultural growth. This coming spring (2006) a special
celebration for their 20th anniversary will be held....
