WOW!!!  WHAT A FANTASTIC, IMPECCIBLE  PERFORMANCE!!!
 
Tonight I had the extreme pleasure of attending the  premiere of 
Urinetown the  Musical at the Beck Center.  IT WAS FANTASTIC!   WHAT A FUNNY 
AND WONDERFUL SHOW!  This production's  wildly biting satire/parody brought 
cheers, whistles and uproarious laughter  from the dynamic opening number to the 
immediate standing ovation and thunderous  applause at the end.  You've just 
GOTTA see this  one!
 
Two years ago at  Playhouse Square, I saw the touring production of Urinetown 
The  Musical and I'm proud to say the Beck Center's home-grown  Cleveland 
production was FAR superior.  Scott Spence's  direction is genius and did not 
miss a trick!  The fantastic cast  (Matthew Wright, Greg Violand, Maggie Stahl, 
Betsy Kahl, Lenne Jacobs-Snively,  Colin Cook, Patrick Carroll, Sandra Emerick, 
John Polk, Jon Fancher, Dan Bush,  Kim Bush, Zac Hudak, Joanna May Hunkins, 
Eric Neumore, and Ryan Bergeron)  exhibited consistently impeccible comic 
timing.  The superior voices  and marvelous harmonies did Larry Goodpaster's 
musical direction proud.   The challenging and creative choreography of Martin 
Cespedes was executed  beautifully throughout the show.  The sets of Don McBride 
and costumes  of Alison Hernan Garrigan were versatile and interesting.  
 
You will LOVE  this show!  For anyone who wants a totally delightful, 
different, fun  "worth every penny of the ticket price" evening, get a group together 
and  go enjoy this three-time Broadway Tony Award winner for Best Score, Best 
Book of  a Musical and Best Direction performed to sublime  perfection by 
some of  Cleveland's finest local  talent.  Urinetown, the Musical  show times 
are  Fridays and Saturdays at 8 P.M. and Sundays at 3 P.M. with special Thursday 
 evening performances at 8 P.M. on September 29 and October  6.
