Another one of Karamu's own goes to Hollywood.  Eleven year old Imani =
Hakim stars as Tonya, Chris' younger sister, the coddled baby of the =
family, in UPN's new comedy EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS premiering Thursday at =
8pm.=20

After showing a natural interest in acting at age 7, Hakim began =
studying acting at Cleveland's historic Karamu House Theater. At Karamu =
House, Hakim appeared in stage productions of "Who Stole the Baby =
Jesus," "Cinderella" and "The Hobbit."=20

She has also studied at Alexander's Workshop in Lakewood, CA, and The =
Young Actor's Space in Burbank, CA.=20

Aside from acting, Hakim enjoys music, African culture, reading, writing =
and martial arts. She lives in Cleveland, OH, with her father and two =
brothers.=20
